Opening Cerimony - Gathering Together

After our Opening Ceremony at Hotel Plaza São Rafael, delegates are invited to come to one of the most multicultural places of Porto Alegre: a bar called Sierra Maestra, a thematic Latin American pub. Delegates can start the process of getting to know each other while they dance Latin American music, enjoy exclusive cocktails and cigars and listen to the stories of the owner of the place, a witness of the Cuban Revolution. And better: you will only pay R$3 plus your consume!

November 5th

And the Oscar Goes to...

After a hard first day of work and tough debates regarding the adoption of the agenda, delegates will have fun at a magic night of our schedule. Keeping that in mind, we invite delegates to our And the Oscar Goes to... party!

Movie stars are expected to come to Bar Ocidente, a touristic spot of Porto Alegre. Opened in the 80's, Ocidente is one of the cradles of the well known "rock gaucho", and one of the best underground scenarios of the capital.

But what kind of movie star? It is up to you to represent a character from movies, musical, theatre, animations, so on. Inspiration may come from the cinema of the country you represent, from personal characteristics you purport, or even from something that has nothing to do with you at all.

Certainly one of the big stars of the night will be the ufrgsmun Band, a band composed by ufrgsmun staff member that will present the greatest classics of rock'n'roll music! Will you dare miss it?

November 6th

Visit to Iberê Camargo Foundation

The free morning of ufrgsmun schedule will be filled with an amazing program: a visit to Iberê Camargo Foundation, an art gallery created in 1995 aiming to preserve the art of Iberê Camargo. The building, which is a sculpture itself, holds a collection with more than 4 thousand itens, including national and international pieces of art. After delight yourself with the tour, you can go to the coffeehouse and enjoy a coffee and some light snack, while facing a fantastic view to the Guaíba River.

Delegates who want to participate on this program must subscribe at ufrgsmun Conference.

Night for Showing Some Talent!

One of the most traditional ufrgsmun parties this year will take place at Cult Bar, a pub at Moinhos de Vento, one of the hot spots of Porto Alegre nightlife. But entertainment this time is a duty of the delegates. And it is mandatory! They may sing, they may dance, they may tell stories, present a play, and so on... We strongly encourage you all to prepare a number for this show. Ufrgsmun staff will take in account the participation on the Talent Show when awarding a delegation with the Best Delegation prize...

After the delegates' show, it's time to enjoy a pocket show with Paula Lazzari, an ufrgsmun member who will perform the greatest samba and MPB success!

Price: free of charge. You only pay what you consume.

November 7th

Ufrgsmun Soccer Cup and Barbecue

It's time for ufrgsmuners to prepare their uniform and go play! We're pleased to invite all delegates and staff members to join the very first edition of the ufrgsmun CUP!

ufrgsmun Cup will have both male and female categories, and the teams must have 7 players. If you don't feel like playing, cheering is also welcome! Besides, ufrgsmun will provide to players and non-players the traditional barbecue from Rio Grande do Sul. It's a fantastic opportunity to play soccer, have a great dinner, drink some bear and have fun!

November 8th

Farewell Party

Although it is time to say goodbye, let's celebrate all the great moments we had at ufrgsmun 2008 eating, dancing and drinking. In order to keep everyone together till the last minute, all delegates are invited to go to Birra & Pasta, an Italian restaurant located in a shopping mall, one of the most traditional and successful restaurant of Porto Alegre, to enjoy a great dinner that we have organized to you all. For couvert, entrée and main course (three options of pasta) you will pay only R$18,00.

After having dinner, you can dance or just hang around with your friends at John Bull, the truly temple of blues and rock'n'roll music in Porto Alegre.
